Phu Quoc

The tropics traditionally remain a popular holiday destination. Phu Quoc, an island in the south of Vietnam, is no exception. Every year more and more of our compatriots come here. Big amount of beaches, exotic seafood, and outside the tourist area, you can still fully appreciate the local flavor and visit the real jungle.

What is the best time to go?

It is better not to plan a trip for July, this is the beginning of the rainy season, and it ends in October. The peak of the tourist season is winter. From April to the beginning of summer, it becomes not so comfortable to rest. Not many foreigners tolerate high humidity and heat well.

What interesting things can you see here?

One of the most affordable ways to see all the sights is to rent a motorbike. 150,000 dong per day, and you can go anywhere on the island. The National park, pagodas, waterfalls, Coconut Prison, and the Pearl Plantation are worth a visit.

An alternative option and much more comfortable (especially if you are traveling with children) is to buy an excursion.

Prices are good and diving is one of the cheapest in the world.

Hotels, shopping, and food

Peace and silence at reasonable prices on Phu Quoc can be found in resorts – from $25 for a room to $150 for a large five-star hotel complex.

You can eat delicious and inexpensive food where the inhabitants of the island eat. Prices in tourist cafes are higher than on the mainland. 150-200 thousand dongs for a serving of fish is a bit much. Local people usually spend 3-4 times less than that.

Phu Quoc is not the place to go shopping. If you want to buy something significant, go to Ho Chi Minh City. On Phu Quoc, there are only shops and a few small markets. Souvenirs, pearls, inexpensive clothes, and seafood – that’s probably all that you can buy on the island.

Beaches are what make Phu Quoc worth visiting

For lovers of solitude, we advise you to go to the northern part of Phu Quoc. Uncrowded white sand beaches, clear water, seafood restaurants, and a minimum of tourists.

Long Beach is the exact opposite of wild beaches. Surrounded by hotels, you will have to make your way to the sea through a labyrinth of sunbeds.

Bai Sao. The best on the island. It is located in its southeastern part.

In general, Phu Quoc will give everyone a positive impression. And many who visited this island come back here again.
